The handles and hardware on any garage door help create the final look, whether that’s a hint of traditional carriage house charm or a custom accent. Every Gallery® Steel door comes standard with classic spade lift handles, but you can tailor the finishing touches. Choose from a range of optional handle styles including spear, colonial, or the distinctive twisted “T” and “L” handles. Add matching escutcheon plates for a polished, refined look.

Complement your handle choice with coordinating step plates and decorative strap hinges, available in spade, spear, or colonial designs. All hardware is built from sturdy materials and finished in black.

How It’s Made: Gallery® Steel

The Gallery® Steel door is built to handle whatever your day throws at it. Each door is crafted with sturdy steel inside and out, sandwiching a layer of high-performance Intellicore® polyurethane or standard polystyrene insulation. This multi-layer construction helps keep your garage warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and quieter all year long.

Clopay’s rust-prevention system protects your investment with hot-dipped galvanizing, a tough metal oxide pretreatment, and a baked-on finish for lasting beauty with minimal upkeep. A replaceable vinyl bottom weather seal in a rust-resistant aluminum retainer helps block out drafts and water, while heavy-duty hardware and 10-ball nylon rollers keep everything running smoothly.

Safety comes standard, thanks to the patented Safe-T-Bracket®, and removable window grilles make cleaning a breeze. Altogether, you get a door that’s durable, low-maintenance, and designed to look great for years.

What Are Grooved Panel Garage Doors?

Machine-pressed decorative lines in a Gallery steel door make for an authentic carriage house appearance. Customize it with your choice of insulation, windows, color, panel style and other decorative hardware. One of these grooved panel overhead doors will meet all environmental compliance regulations and comes standard with:

  • A multilayer coating for rust prevention.
  • A replaceable vinyl bottom weather seal.
  • A patented safe-T-Bracket®.
  • Spade lift handles and step plates.

Benefits of This Gallery Design Style

Choosing a grooved panel Gallery carriage house garage door lets you enjoy a classic, timeless look with the low maintenance and durability of steel backing it up. With your choice of one, two and three-layer construction and various insulations and thicknesses, your garage will remain in great condition thanks to this door.

Insulation options include Intellicore® Polyurethane, polystyrene, or vinyl-backed polystyrene, which gives this style excellent R-values, which measure a material’s resistance to heat flow. Ranging from 6.5 to 18.4, these R-values are some of the highest available in residential garage doors.

Their durable steel construction will provide excellent security, helping you maintain peace of mind about home safety. Steel is a low-maintenance material, and has a long-lasting baked-on primer and top coat. If your Gallery door has an Ultra-Grain® finish, you can clean it using a cloth or soft bristle brush, and a cup of nontoxic, biodegradable cleaner mixed with warm water. If you have a Lustra paint finish, only use an ammonium chloride cleaner like Lysol. Always follow Clopay’s care and maintenance instructions to preserve your finish.

Clopay also recommends waxing steel doors after cleaning and drying for long-lasting protection.
